Sol Wilson studied at the Cooper Union Art School; at the NAD School of Fine Art; and with Robert Henri and George Bellows. Among his honors were: the Pepsi-Cola Competition; the Corcoran Gallery Biennial, Washington, DC; the Carnegie Annual, Pittsbugh, Pennsylvania; a grant from the American Academy of Arts and Letters; the Henry Ward Ranger and Andrew Carnegie prizes, NAD. His paintings are in such public collections as: the Baltimore Museum of Art; the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Ben Alel Museum, Israel; the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Newark Museum, New Jersey; and the Hirshhorn Museum, Washington, DC.
