Moses Soyer studied at the Cooper Union Art School; the School of the NAD; the Beaux Arts Institute of Design and the Educational Alliance Art School, New York. Among his honors were an Andrew Carnegie Fund Prize; and a Child Hassam Memorial Fund Purchase Award. His paintings are found in public collections such as: the Museum of Modern Art; the Metropolitan Museum of Art: the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC; also in the Detroit Institute of Art; the Phillips Memorial Gallery, Washington, DC; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; the Brooklyn Museum, and the Newark Museum, New Jersey. He taught at the New School for Social Research and the Educational Alliance.
