Born in Brooklyn, NY, 1922, Leonda Finke studied drawing at the Art Students League and sculpture at the Educational Alliance. She lives and works in Roslyn, NY, and is represented by Sculptors Guild, Inc., New York.

One-person exhibitions include the Hudson River Gallery, Dobbs Ferry, NY; Grounds for Sculpture, Hamilton, NJ; The Century Association, New York; American Numismatic Society Museum, New York; and the Sculpture Center Gallery, New York. Selected group exhibitions include the Goethe National Museum, Weimar, Germany; Contemporary Sculpture at Chesterwood, Stockbridge, MA; Elaine Benson Gallery, Bridgehampton, NY; and Stages of Creation - Public Sculpture by National Academicians, National Academy of Design Museum. Finke's work is in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution; Butler Institute of Amercan Art; The British Museum, London; Grounds for Sculpture, NJ; and Brookgreen Gardens, SC. She is the recipient of a Yaddo Fellowship; a J. Sanford Saltus Award, National Academy of Design Annual; and a Gold Medal, National Sculpture Society.
