1904 - 1992
Philip Reisman studied at the Art Students League with Wallace Morgan, George Bridgeman, George Luks and Frank Dumond. Among his honors are: a Yaddo Foundation Resident Grant; a Pepsi-Cola Prize; Adam Mickiewitz Centennial Committee Prize; the Joseph S. Isidor Gold Medal, the NAD; and Childe Hassam Fund Purchase Prize, the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. For the W.P.A. Project he painted a mural in Bellevue Hospital, NYC. He has also illustrated several books. His easel paintings are in such public collections as: The Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of the City of New York; the Hirshhorn Museum, Washington, DC, and the Edwin A. Ulrich Museum of Art, the Wichita State University, Kansas.
