Alexander Ross studied at the Carnegie Institute of the Technical School of Art, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Among his honors are an honorary M.A. degree, bestowed on him by Boston College, as well as awards from the American Watercolor Society; the Salmagundi Club, and the Ranger Purchase Fund at the NAD. He is an illustrator as well as an easel painter. His works are in public collections such as the Mattatuck Museum, Connecticut; the New Britain Museum, Conn; and Fairfield University, Connecticut.
