Henrik Martin Mayer studied at the Manchester Institute of Arts and Sciences and at the Yale University School of Fine Art. His honors included: the Hallgarten, Altman, and Edwin A. Abbey Awards, NAD; a prize, the John Herron Art Institute, Indianapolis, Ind.; the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, Conn; and the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio. His works in public collections include: the Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio; the Springfield Museum of Fine Art, MA; and the New Britain Art Museum, Conn. His murals are found in locations such as: the Cosmopolitan Club, NYC; the U.S. Marine Hospital, Louisville, KY, and the Fine Art Center, University of Conn., Storrs. He taught at the John Herron Art School, Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Hartford Art School, University of Harford, Connecticut.
