1927 - 1964
Morton Roberts studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Art, Boston, and at Yale University. Among his honors were the Ethel Child Walker Prize, Yale University; the Edwin Austin Abbey Fellowship for mural painting, two Benjamin Altman prizes, an Edith Speyer Prize, the Thomas B. Clarke Prize, and the Ranger Fund Purchase Prize, NAD; several prizes from the American Watercolor Society, and Audubon Artists. His paintings are in public collections such as Yale University; the Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh; and Iowa State University, Ames. As an illustrator his work was reproduced in Life magazine, Colliers, Sports Illustrated, American Artist, and also many foreign publications. He taught at Pratt Institute and at the NAD.
