Henry Koerner studied at the Academy of Applied Art, Vienna, Austria. Among his honors were the Temple Award from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; and Artist of the Year, [awarded by whome] Pittsburgh. His paintings are included in public collections at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the American Institute of Chicago; the Metropolitan Museum, New York; the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and the New Orleans (Louisiana) Museum of Art. His work has appeared on many covers of Time Magazine. He served on the faculties of the Pennsylvania College for Women, Pittsburgh, and the California College of Arts and Crafts, ***.
