Born in 1937, Nick Edmonds studied at the Ogunquit School of Painting and Sculpture and received a diploma with honors from the Boston Museum School and remained there for a post-graduate year. He was a member of the Sculptors Guild and had lectured at Montserat College of Art and Amherst College. He lived and worked in Sharon, MA, and taught at Boston University.

Recent one-person exhibitions include the Copley Society of Boston; Amherst College Museum; College of William and Mary; North Eastern University, Boston; New Britain Museum of Art, CT; Saint Gaudens National Historic Site, Cornish, NH; Milton Academy, MA; State University of Massachusetts, Bridgewater; Brockton Art Center, MA; State University of New York, Courtland; Addison Gallery of American Art; and a Retrospective at the 808 Gallery, Boston University, 2003. Group exhibitions include numerous shows at the Sculptors Guild; Copley Society of Boston; Invitational Sculpture Show, Provincetown Art Association, MA; Aspects of Landscape, Keene State College, NH; The Human Presence in Sculpture, Boston University; Wood Sculpture, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and Wood Works, Dartmouth College, NH, and the Addison Gallery of American Art, MA. Edmonds' work is in the collections of St. Anselms College, NH; New Britain Museum of Art; Tufts University; Boston Public Library; Veronica Smith Senior Center, Brighton, MA; and Newton Free Library, Newton, MA. Publications include an exhibition catalogue from the New Britain Museum of American Art, CT; and a film Wood Sculptor, Nick Edmonds, by Peter Hoving, which had national release on television and in movie theaters. He was the recipient of a Blanche E. Colman Award; a Fulbright Grant, Japan; Massachusetts Council for the Arts and Humanities Award; Saint Gaudens Fellowship; and a Certificate of Merit, a 1st Prize for Sculpture, and an Orville Lance Prize at several National Academy of Design Annuals.
