American, 1929 - 2021
Born in New York in 1929, sculptor William Crovello studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design from 1947 to 1951, the Art Students League and Columbia University. In the 1950s, he spent time in Japan where he gained an appreciation for calligraphy. In 1963, he moved to Spain where he began to devote himself to sculpture. From then on, he maintained studios in both New York and Pietrasanta, Italy.
