Object number1303-P
Label TextLike 1389-P, also attributed to McEntee, Twilight features a thick, smoothly brushed layer of dark paint covering the sky down to the horizon where warm light spills through in a long band. McEntee is known to have done many such twilight scenes, and the handling of the landscape elements is consistent with his oeuvre. The relatively small size and loose brushwork indicate that Twilight may be one of the twenty-seven uncatalogued sketches which were part of the bequest of James Suydam.
