Millet studied at the Art Students League with George Bridgeman, but was basically a self-taught artist. Millet painted the local scene in Louisiana including views of the Mississippi, New Orleans street scenes and picturesque scenes of small Louisiana towns.
Millet had one man shows at the Issac Delgado Museum (New Orleans); Houston Museum of Fine Arts; Currier Gallery, the Mississippi Art Association and the State Gallery at Shreveport, Louisiana.
Millet served as president of the New Orleans Art League from 1941.
