Born in Denver, CO, 1931, Peter Heinemann studied with Joseph Albers at Black Mountain College. He taught painting and drawing at the School of Visual Arts, New York. He lived and worked in New York City.
One-person exhibitions include numerous shows at the Gallery Schlesinger; Gallery 120; Hacker Gallery; and the Roko Gallery. Group exhibitions include The Center for Figurative Painting; 55 Mercer Street Gallery; New York Studio School Gallery; Prince Street Gallery; Lake Placid Center for the Arts; and the Visual Arts Museum. He was the recipient of a New York Foundation Grant; NEA Grant; CAPS Grants; and a Childe Hassam Purchase Award, American Institute of Arts & Letters.
