Alice Harold Murphy studied New York at the National Academy of Design School of Fine Art (1921-27) and the Art Students League; and in Paris at Academie Colorossi and the Academie de La Grand Chaumire. Among her honors were three Tiffany Foundation Grants; and awards from the National Association of Women Artists and the Springfield Art Museum. Her works are in public collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Philadelphia Art Alliance; and graphics in the Library of Congress Collection, Washington, D.C. and the New York Public Library. She produced a large body of graphics. She has taught at the NAD School of Fine Art, and at the Art Students League.
