Label TextSince the 1950s Finke has worked as a figurative sculptor and created images solely of women. She has been strongly inspired by the art of the German Expressionists. In the mid-1940s she studied at the Educational Alliance, where her teachers included Chaim Gross. Finke regularly pictures women on the brink of self-discovery, who appear to be breaking out of themselves like butterflies from a chrysalis.n.d.
