Label TextThroughout his career, Gay returned repeatedly to harvest subjects and views of grain fields. His Broad Acres (1887, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York), a similar but more impressive painting than Wind among the Grain, had won second prize at the 1887 New York Prize Fund exhibition.
