Label TextThe dimensions of this painting were once 19 3/4 by 15 1/4 inches. Apparently Dickinson attached that canvas to another canvas of the requisite size for an Academy diploma portrait, either to extend the composition or to repaint background and accessory details. The area of the inscription where the artist's dating of the work logically would appear is illegible.
