She holds a young boy, and a shawl, draped over her shoulders, also wraps around the child. A seven-and-one-half-inch version of this piece, cast in polyester resin, won the Gold Medal at the 38th Annual Exhibition of the National Sculpture Society in 1971. Two other versions, one in bronze (1970) and the other, eight feet in height and in fiberglass (1971), are in private collections.
