Label TextThis sculpture depicts Wein's daughter Bambi reading a book. He commented on the conception in the National Sculpture Review:

I was particularly taken by the form and composition of the body relaxed in the act of reading. Although much of my work is done without models, in this instance I utilized one, my daughter, to capture a specific moment of daily life which had inspired me. I have always been fascinated by the human body in its myriad movements, gestures, and attitudes found so easily in observing the common activities of every day life. Translating this into an aesthetic experience is the art of the sculptor.
