Label TextDaingerfield and Cox were friends and neighbors in the Holbein Building in New York. Cox is said to have helped his friend through the difficult period following the death of Daingerfield's wife in 1891 (Gambill). A long Daingerfield letter to Cox, written from Switzerland in 1897, and a 1906 reference to a dinner shared by Cox and Daingerfield attest to their continued friendship.
