Label TextA small study for this self-portrait, in the collection of the Duke University Medical Center, was included in the 1963 Graham Gallery exhibition and is illustrated in the March 1963 issue of Arts Magazine. The date noted on the reverse of the painting is more likely a reference to its acceptance by the Academy than to its execution.
