Label TextBorn in Leicester, Massachusetts, Lana Sprague (1789-1872) married Benjamin Edmands (1782-1867) of Charlestown, Massachusetts in 1808. Edmands worked with his brother, Barnabus, in the operation of Edmands Pottery before becoming a painter, maintaining a shop on Charlestown's main square. City Directories record his profession as a painter for more than two decades. The couple lived on Washington Street and had 13 children.
