Wendy Evans Joseph is the founder of Studio Joseph. She sets the design for each of the firm’s projects and is intimately involved with her clients and the progress of the work throughout the entire building process from concept to occupancy. Under her leadership, Studio Joseph has completed a diverse array of public, institutional, and cultural projects. Joseph’s passion for art and museum culture and public education has led to a strong commitment to museum design, temporary and permanent exhibition installation. Studio Joseph works with graphic designers, media, and technology to create immersive environments for shared learning.

Joseph received a Rome Prize in Architecture from the American Academy in Rome. As an active participant in professional leadership, she was the president of the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, chairman of the AIA National Committee of Design, president of the Architectural League of New York, and is the current President of the National Academy of Design. She is a board member of the American Ballet Theatre and Second Stage Theatre and City as Living Laboratory (CaLL).

Before founding Studio Joseph, she had a distinguished twelve-year tenure at Pei Cobb Freed & Partners where she was a designer for large-scale public and institutional and museum projects. Joseph has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master in Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is licensed to practice in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Texas, holds NCARB certification, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
