for Henry Russell Ballinger
American, 1893 - 1993
Ballinger studied at the California Institute of Art in San Francisco; the Art Students League in New York; and the Academie Colorossi in Paris. On returning to the United States, he settled in New Harford, Connecticut, and became a prominent watercolorist. His landscapes and marines were frequently exhibited in such institutions as the Salmagundi Club, New York; the Connecticut Watercolor Society; the New Haven Paint and Clay Club; and the Rockport Art Association.
