Phil Paradise studied at the Chouinard (now Parsons) Art Institute, Los Angeles, California. Among his honors are awards from the Los Angeles Art Association; the California Watercolor Society; the Oakland Annual Watercolor Exhibition; the San Diego Museum; and the Philadelphia Watercolor Purchase Award. His works are in public collections such as the San Diego Fine Arts Society, California; the Denver Art Museum, Colorado; and the Los Angeles County Museum. He is a muralist as well as a painter in watercolor. He has served on the faculties of the University of California, Santa Barbara; the Chouinard Art Institute, California; the California College of Arts and Science; and Texas Western College, El Paso.
