Label TextThis is the model for a medal designed by Weinman in about 1919 to be presented to physicians, surgeons, and nurses of Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York, who had served in the armed forces during World War I. It depicts several allegorical figures, two male and one female, evidently in reference to the three categories of service which the medal honors. Casts of the medal were made by the Medallic Art Company, New York.
