Label TextIn the June 5, 1911, Council minutes, this work was accepted with the title Robbers' Cave. However, in the listing of the Academy collection published later that year, it is identified as Norsemen. The informal support, hasty execution, and atypical subject for Gaul all suggest that the work was created as an illustration.
