Label TextIn a letter of January 30, 1975, when he submitted this painting as his diploma work, J. Scott Williams stated:

I believe it is time for the scientists to design and the National Academy of Design should lead in this effort. My painting is based on a real observation seen by me in 1905 and I believe that it is support for the concept of Max Planck's own theory of 'Quantum.'
I am sending this painting, not as a special work of art, but as scientific proof of Quantum, and in honor of our first Academy President Samuel F. B. Morse, who made his mark and contributions in both art and science.

NAD minutes of May 17, 1938 state that a watercolor was presented on the promise to replace this with an oil painting within a year. Is this watercolor still in the collection?
In the 1975 letter he said that he submitted photos of four large murals and five windows with stained galss inserts of printers' marks for the Indiana State Library in 1938. Do we still have these in collection?
