Label TextNew York-native Rhoda Sherbell studied sculpture at the Art Students League under William Zorach. After spending an extended period of time in Europe, Sherbell's work became more expressionistic and began to focus almost exclusively on humanistic subjects as she sought to capture the life and vitality of our time. Sherbell has referred to her style as “subliminal realism.” Each of her works is cast in an edition of six, with each bronze differing subtly from the other.
