Label TextCropsey's account book for the sale of his work in 1856 notes seven studies sold to James A. Suydam. The Lake of Nemi is surely one of these. This small landscape is probably another and probably one of "twenty-seven sketches" that the Academy registered as part of the Suydam bequest only in the early twentieth century.
