Label TextBacher's etching "Zaltieri" (Zattere) dates from 1880 and features a riva in Venice which got its name from the river barges that arrived there loaded with tree trunks cut from throughout the Veneto. The wood was unloaded along "Le Zattere," and was eventually used for, among other things, the construction of ships, buildings, foundations, channel markers and mooring posts.
