Label TextMichelle Stuart is known as an "earth-artist" or landscape artist concerned with natural history and the environment. A seed calendar provides information on when to plant what, i.e. planting times, germination and regions for seedlings. Stuart believes that seeds reflect the cycles of life and death. This Seed Calendar is one of a group of seed calendars that the artist has executed. About her seeds, Stuart has written that "Observing the metamorphosis in seeds-knowing that one common plant can produce six million seeds-assures the hope of life force and its imprinted pattern of evolution assures that some memories, whether by chance or change never die."
