Label TextJones was an avid gardener, and he was particularly devoted to the flowers surrounding his summer home at South Egremont, MA, where he often painted. In an article on outdoor flower painting, Charles C. Curran described Jones's works in words which show "Waiting" to be typical of the artist's productions. He calls attention to "the charm of lace-like design, decorative pattern and beautiful silhouettes of white and delicate pink blooms against quiet grey green masses of foliage. Graceful stems and curling leaves touched by glints of light from the summer sky outline against the deeper shadows beyond."Collections
