Shorr earned a B.A. from Swathmore College in 1960 and a B.F.A. from Yale University's School of Art and Architecture in 1962. She was awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1981. Her paintings have been in solo exhibitions at Fischbach Gallery several times as well as at Peter Tatistcheff Gallery, New York, in 1980, 1988, and 1989. Paintings and monotypes by Shorr were exhibited at the Neuberger Museum in 1992.

Shorr's works are among the holdings of several museums including the Brooklyn Museum, the Chicago Art Institute, and Utah Museum of Fine Art, Salt Lake City.
