Adolf Konrad studied at the Newark (New Jersey) School of Fine and Industrial Art, and at the Cummington School, Massachusetts, with Herman Maril. He has earned several honors from the National Academy including the Thomas B. Clarke Prize, the Ranger Fund Purchase Prize, and the Andrew Carnegie Prize. He was named Artist of the Yearby the Jersey City (New Jersey) Museum and was the recipient of a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Fellowship. At the Third Annual Internation Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture, Marietta College, Ohio, he won an Award of Excellence; and the Allied Artists of America presented him with a Humphreys Memorial Prize. His paintings are in the collections of the Newark (New Jersey) Museum, the Montclair (New Jersey) Art Museum, the Springfield (Massachusetts) Museum of Fine Art; and the Everart Museum, Scanton, Pennsylvanaia.
