Steve DiBenedetto (b.1958, Bronx, NY) is best known for his thickly layered paintings and prismatic pencil drawings populated by a mixture of organic and mechanical forms, including octopi, helicopters, Ferris wheels, and architecture. After graduating from Parson’s with a BFA in 1980, he was awarded several grants including Tiffany and Guggenheim grants. DiBenedetto has taught at Columbia University, Cooper Union, Rutgers, and Cornell University. The artist lives and works in New York City.
