Leonardo Lasansky was born on March 29, 1946 in Iowa City. He received a Bachelor of General Studies (1971) and a Master of Fine Arts (1972) from the University of Iowa. He is an artist working in the genres of intaglio printmaking and drawing.
Lasansky is a Professor of art at Hamline University in St. Paul, since 1972, and chair of the fine arts division from 1981-1985. He was the Artist-in-resident Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire in 1982. He is the Director of exhibitions at Hamline University, St. Paul, since 1995, and the chair of the department of studio arts and art history since 1995.
