1880 - 1959
Lindeberg began his architectural training around 1900 in the offices of McKim, Mead, and White and in 1906 began his own practice. During his early career he designed residences for many prominent figures including Philip D. Armour, John S. Pilsbury, Eugene du Pont, and Horace Havermeyer. Later, he was commissioned to design many foreign buildings for the State Department including the buildings of the U.S. legation in Helsinki, Finland, and the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai, China.
A copy of Stevenson's portrait of Lindeberg was made by Adrian Lamb on a commission from Angelina V. Lindeberg, widow of the sitter, in 1969.
