Agostini studied at the Leonardo Da Vinci School of Art in New York and has taught at Columbia University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; he was instructor in sculpture at the Academy school, 1987-88. In 1966 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship. Examples of his work are in the collections of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Wadsworth Athenaeum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art, among others.
