for Frederick Vernon Murphy
1879 - 1958
Murphy studied at the Chicago Atheneum, and George Washington University in Washington, D.C., before traveling to Paris where he attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts from 1905 to 1906. He was in Europe frequently from the 1920s until the early 1950s, when he settled permanently in Washington, and established the architectural firm of Murphy and Locraft.
