Label TextJules Guerin had a multifaceted career as a scenic designer, architectural illustrator, and muralist. He worked on the decoration for the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 before going to Paris to study at the Academy Julian. Guerin made numerous trips to Europe throughout his career, but it is not clear when exactly he painted this quiet scene of a Sienese town.
