Label TextIn Treiman’s Schatzie and Me of 1978, we see the artist in what we might assume is her backyard or a place where she is at ease enough to be outdoors in such casual, intimate attire as a housecoat and pajama pants. She is holding a fake or stuffed parrot, and in the background a dog rolls on the ground scratching its back. Treiman adds something here to the long tradition of artists portraying people posed with their animal or pet, such as a horse or favorite dog.
