Label TextAlthough this work has been exhibited as Palisades Road, it was accepted by the Academy under the title Road Down the Palisades. A larger version of this subect is in the collection of the City Art Museum of Saint Louis.
After moving to Washington Heights in 1898, Lawson's favorite subjects became landscapes of the rivers, bridges and cliffs visible from upper Manhattan.
