Label TextThis painting won second prize in the Greenwich Society of Artists exhibition of 1928. It is one of an informal series Ochtman painted of her father at work and the earliest known of these, Leonard Ochtman in His Studio (unlocated), had been shown at the Greenwich Society's annual of 1926. The Academy's painting is the second in the series; the third is The Morning Newspaper, 1929 (private collection); and the last is Studio Interior with Leonard Ochtman, 1932 (private collection).
