Jules Kirschenbaum studied at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and with Hans Hofmann. He has been a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and at the National Academy has won the Hallgarten Prize, the Altman Prize, the Emil and Dines Carlsen Prize, and two Ranger Fund Purchase Awards. His paintings are in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio; the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; and the Davenport Art Gallery, Iowa. He has served on the faculties of the Des Moines Art Center; Drake University, ***; and the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia.
