The son of sculptor Adolph Alexander Weinman, NA, Robert Weinman studied in New York at the National Academy (1931-39) and at the Art Students League (1939-40). He was an apprentice to National Academicians James Earle Fraser, C. Paul Jennewein, and Joseph Kiselewski. His major works include Morning Mission (Tulsa Municipal Airport, Tulsa, Oklahoma); the bronze doors for the Armstrong-Browning Library, Baylor University; religious sculpture for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Ozone Park, New York; Stations of the Cross for the chapel at Manhattanville College, Purchase, New York; and over one hundred commemorative medals.
He served in the armed forces during World War II and is a member of the National Sculpture Society of which he has been secretary, 1st vice-president, and a member of the council.
