Artist Joseph Santore is originally from Philadelphia, PA. He attended the Philadelphia College of Art, where he received his B.F.A. in 1969. He also attended the University of Arizona from 1970-1971, eventually receiving his M.F.A. from Yale University in 1973. Santore has won numerous awards, including a American Academy of Arts and Letters Purchase Award, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fund Fellowship Grant, an Ingram Merrill Foundation Award in Painting, the New York Foundation of the Arts Fellowship, and the Alice Kimball Traveling Fellowship from Yale University.
