Keally received a B.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he studied with Paul Cret, and his A.B. from Carnegie Institute of Technology. In 1923 he married Mildred Fessenden Taber.

His major works include the Berlin Public Library (where?), the Brooklyn Public Library, the Oregon State Capitol, and the Detroit Public Library Addition. Did the American Cemetery chapel, Hamm, Luxembourg, dedicated 1960; sculptures by Leo Friedlander

He was proposed to NAD membership by James Kellum Smith.
