Campbell studied at the Cooper Union, the Art Students League in New York, and the Cummington School ***. She won the Altman Prize at the Academy annual exhibition of 1987. Among her other awards and honors were the Pearl Fund Fellowship, a Fullbright Fellowship, and a grant from the Lewis Comfort Tiffany Foundation. She served on the faculties of the Philadelphia College of Art, the Pratt Institute, New York, and Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut. From the late 1940s regularly invited to participate in museum-organized group exhibitions throughout the country, the latest one-artist exhibition of her work was presented in 1985 by the Swain School of Art, New Bedford, Massachusetts. Campbell was married to the painter, Louis Finkelstein.
