Richard Kimball received his BA from Yale in 1922 and his BFA from Yale in 1927. In 1928 he married Josephine Dodge.
Since 1944 he was an associate in the architectural firm of Gugler and Kimball. He designed the World War II Memorial Chapel at Anzio Beach, Italy; and the Memorial Assembly Building, St. Paul's School, Concord, NH; he restored Connecticut Hall, Yale University and Danforth Memorial, Brooks School, North Andover, Massachusetts.
He was proposed to membership in the NAD by William Adams Delano. For his diploma presentation he submitted a portfolio of architectural photographs.
